Meet Heather. Her story is one of strength and gratitude.
On a hot Independence Day, a community of strong women gathered in the church hall for food, fellowship, and the opportunity to declare freedom from drugs and alcohol. Some 80 women took the time to come to the ADA Family Reunion which marks the joys and sorrows of the previous year. Heather stepped forward, encircled by the women who had been in treatment with her. She said, “Today, I buried my mother. Even though today was a deeply emotional day, I knew I had to make the effort to be with all of you tonight. It was only because I came to ADA House that I was able to repair my broken relationships with my mother and other family members. It was only because I sobered up that I was welcomed back into my family. It was only my recovery that let me mourn with my brothers and sisters. I rode in the limousine to the funeral because the women of ADA House helped me come back to life.”
Please help women like Heather.
